A Co-op Work Permit allows international students enrolled in co-operative education programs or internships to gain practical work experience in Canada.

• Required for work placements that are part of your academic program.
• Allows you to work off-campus in a relevant field.
• Essential for gaining Canadian work experience.

To be eligible, your co-op or internship must be an essential part of your academic program in Canada.

• Your work experience must be part of your DLI's curriculum.
• The work must be supervised by a faculty member.
• The co-op/internship cannot be more than 50% of your total program length.
• Gains valuable Canadian work experience for future career prospects.
