Sponsor Parents & Grandparents for PR in Canada
Bring your loved ones closer with the PGP and give them a secure future in Canada.

Understanding the PGP
01
Factors to Consider
The Parents & Grandparents Program allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their parents and grandparents for permanent residency. Applicants should carefully consider the financial requirements, as sponsors must meet the minimum necessary income level for three consecutive years to qualify. A signed undertaking is also required, committing the sponsor to financially support their parents or grandparents for a set period of time. Clear documentation, including proof of relationship, tax records, and status documents, is essential. Timely submission is critical, as the PGP operates on a limited intake system with strict deadlines.
02
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible under the PGP, the sponsor must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident over the age of 18 and meet the income requirement. They must also commit to financially supporting the sponsored parents or grandparents and ensuring they do not rely on social assistance. The applicants (parents or grandparents) must provide valid identification, pass medical and security checks, and meet immigration requirements. Eligibility is determined by the authenticity of the relationship, the sponsor’s financial capacity, and compliance with Canadian immigration laws.
